Boulder Falls, Colorado is just a short distance away from Boulder City is a popular tourist attraction that draws in numbers of adventure tourists who venture on to the hiking trails. Boulder Falls is a waterfall that is fed by the melting ice on the Rockies Mountain Range. The character of the waterfall changes seasonally which makes it even more interesting, during winter you are likely to find Boulder Falls completely frozen over. The white snow is stuck in a perpetual state of cascade as if the motion of the waterfall had been stopped momentarily.

During winter though the trails maybe a little bit more difficult to traverse, the sight of the frozen waterfall is definitely worth the extra effort. During the warmer summer months the waterfall expands to frothy white cascade that has a straight drop for about 20 feet and a staggered descent for another 20 feet. Located in a shady canyon the Boulder Falls are popular destination for tourists during the summer, as the cool water provides some respite from the warmth and humidity.

Known as a region that attracts a lot of adventure tourists, a number of other exciting attractions and activities can be found around Boulder. Since the town is surrounded by expansive countryside which offers more than 30,000 acres of recreational area and nature reserve, hiking is an extremely popular activity. Many of the trails start right at the edge of town and vary in difficulty, some of the more advanced trails are quite technically challenging.

Rock Climbing is also a favourite activity of the many visitors that come here, world class rock climbing and abseiling can be found a short distance away from Boulder Falls in El Dorado Canyon. Known for its natural beauty and breathtaking geological formations, El Dorado's climbing trails vary in different stages of difficulty. Apart from attraction outdoors Boulder has a vibrant music scene and a lively pub culture.
